Thank you so much for all your prayers! Lucy's port access yesterday was the best one she has ever had. She was able to be so calm and brave. Hopefully this will help her to be calm for future events. The new hospital is so colorful, with log cabin decorations in the hallways and pretty blue cabinets in the hospital room. Unfortunately, they do sound like they will be uptight about having only one of us parents in the room at a time. Most likely JD will take all the night shifts and I will be there during the day. But we will have to see how things go. She is having a lumbar puncture this morning. I will be switching out with JD after that. Please be praying for her attitude. She continues to have trouble with her head feeling "funny". This tends to lead to outbursts. The doctors don't have any explanation or ways to help. There have been times when they have given her Benadryl that might have caused things to be worse. But we aren't sure. Please pray for wisdom for us and the medical staff as we try to help her feel and behave as well as can be expected. Thank you all so much for your gifts as well. It has been such a comfort financially as JD has had to pass up so much work. And all the amazing toys and crafts for Lucy have made it so much easier to pass the time as we go through this process. We feel so incredibly loved. Prayer needs: - Lucy's head to feel better and for Lucy to be able to control her behavior - For Lucy body to respond correctly to the chemo with minimal side effects - For compassionate and helpful nurses - For JD and I as we switch off to be able to communicate and support each other without any time together - For little David as he is being babysat by his Aunt Rachel during the day. He struggles with separation anxiety. - For continued strength and patience for my sister April as she takes care of my family. She has been amazing! - For is to be witnesses to everyone we interact with Something fun: Knowing how much Lucy loves giving people things, my sister gave Lucy a box of little squishy animals to give to the nurses and doctors. She has really enjoyed handing them out so far. It's such a perfect way to share joy in a hard place.

So good to read this news about Lucy’s good port access yesterday. “One day at a time sweet Jesus…” as the song goes. May he help you keep your eyes on Him through this storm and daily give you the strength and encouragement you need. Praise God, HE is stronger than the storm!
