We have great news! Friday at our doctor appointment we got the results from the bone marrow biopsy Lucy had done a few weeks ago. Her first biopsy showed that 90% of her bone marrow was cancerous. Now it is 0%! They were not able to find even the tiniest cancer cells. So it seems like the chemo has been working!

We've been able to spend the weekend in Flagstaff, which has been so nice. We head down to Phoenix tomorrow. On Tuesday, Lucy will have her blood counts tested and a PET scan to check on her tumors. Please be praying that the day will go well and the results of the scan will be good. She has a tendency to wake up from anesthesia in a really bad mood so please be praying for her and us as we try to help her.

The doctors were originally planning to start round 3 of chemo on Wednesday, the 27th. But Lucy's counts (red blood cell, white cell, and platelet) were so low on Friday that the doctor expects we will need to wait until the following week to start the chemo. We will know more after Tuesday.

Overall Lucy is doing well. She is eating much better, thanks in part to an appetite stimulant that is working wonders. Behaviorally there have still been some mood swings, etc. Pray God gives us the wisdom and patience to handle those well.

Though we are not yet able to go to church yet, we did gather as a house this morning to watch the sermon online. The sermon was about how Jesus let Lazarus die before he went to help him. In a similar way, God sometimes ordains for us to go through hard things for our good. It made me think about how the doctors are making Lucy go through so much pain. The chemo is the cause of the hair loss, the mood swings, the stomach pain, and the lowered immune system. But all that pain is for her ultimate good, saving her from something much worse that is nearly beyond our comprehension. If we can trust these fallible doctors to have good intentions, may we also somehow trust our good Father to have the best of intentions, even when it doesn't look like it.

Prayer needs:

- For continued protection for Lucy as she recovers from the last chemo

- For the PET scan Tuesday to go smoothly, and for the results to be good

- For sleep and strength for JD and me

- For all of us involved to handle this stress well

- For us to be good witnesses to those we interact with

Can you mention to anesthesiologist that she has been making up in a bad mood?… After third time for my daughter, I happened to say something to Dr about I was dreading her fight when she woke and he nonchalantly mentioned they can change or adjust something… and it never happened again! WHY they didn’t do something before I have no idea, but I was thankful she got a bit of help.

Hope that helps you too. Praying for your whole family and praising God for the 0% signs of cancer!
